Throughout my college career I developed a very strong interest in streetwear, and The Happening is the first ever collection I developed for this market.

This collection was essentially a culmination of ideas I had been pondering for a little over a year. I wanted to create something fun, vibrant, and most importantly- wearable for both young men and women. Statement pieces that would allow the consumer to showcase their style and personality to the world.

This collection led me to try things that I never had before such as working with new materials, fabric dyeing, applying appliques, and color blocking.

I debuted this collection at the 2019 African American Textile Society Fashion Expose and placed second in the intermediate category, winning a cash prize.
